When the hell will the Warriors move some of thier home games to North Harbour it's the 3rd time they have had a crowd of 15,000+ for a trial.

I think the people of the North Shore are speaking with their feet and when will the Warriors listen?

good effort shore peeps... :)

what about more games around nz?? I understand they must have some agreement in place with Mt Smart etc... but they are the NEW ZEALAND Warriors....

When was the last time they had a home game in the South Island??? Tigers in the past and Roosters this year are moving their home games here....

Agree but test it with Harbour to start with that way loyal d season ticket holders can still go then test the reaction and go from there

No way. The South deserve a home match alot more than the Shore. After all, we are the home of the Bartercard Provincial champions! The Roosters are going to reap the rewards by bringing the NRL back to the south island. The Warriors needed to act alot sooner...

Hey hey come on AA, no need for the region stab, it still hurts losing to you lot in the provincials HAHA
However i do agree with both at the mo'
North Harbour Stadium can get more of a crowd than Mt Smart however there are no plans to bring games over to harbour in the next few seasons. Harbour is purely for "pre-season"
As for games out of Auckland, hopefully within the next 2 season things will be in place where NRL games are being played down Wellington and Christchurch, its just a shame the Aussie teams can see a market outside of Auckland and are working towards playing their home games in NZ.
No doubt the warriors are looking into this taking home games out of Auckland more often however.
With the NRL offering the clubs $50,000 incentive for clubs to sign 10,000 members the warriors may be looking into this but if Aussie teams can take a home game away then no reason why the warriors cant.

I think maybe thats why the other NRL clubs are moving their home games to NZ... especially down here... broaden their fan base...

Sydney is only so big I suppose so they will need to look elsewhere for members etc...

Imagine the Warriors playing in Dunedin at the new covered stand in the middle of a semister... the students down there would make it a memorable event for sure!!!

I like that the Warriors play their trials away from Mt Smart - Rotorua, Nth Harbour... but to be fair... Rotorua is only 2 hours away from Mt Smart and Nth Harbour even closer... so only a car ride away....

Trials in Wellington, Chch, Dunners, Queenstown even... would be much better for the game in NZ.

Aussie clubs are playing against the Warriors in NZ for two reasons in this order

1. Money
2. Crowds

They all realise when they play the Warriors they get poor gate takings but if they play them in a Kiwi city where they don't normally get pro Rugby League they will get a big crowd

1. It's a New Zealand team
2. Its a game they all follow but don't get to see

Why don't they play them in Auckland - well it's the home of the Warriors

if they play them in Christchurch and they get 13,000 to the game it's 4,000-5,000 more than if they played a Sat night game back in Sydney for example.

The Warriors want to protect their current base of fans which have stuck with them though some shit so they don't want to take the games outside of Auckland or out of range of them. North Harbour does not do this and it adds a large base of potential supporters to the mix.
