On the 6th of feb 2010 riccarton rugby league club are hosting a 9 a side league comp. The reason being there seems to be a lot of union 7's comps going on, so we thought why not have our own league 9's comp. Not sure of all the exact
info like price etc but def on 6th feb so please spread the word and lets try and get every club in canty and outside of canty there and show these ruggers just how great our game is. Just remember this is all about our great game of RUGBY LEAGUE so all get in behind it and make it something
we can be proud of.

Good idea... why not open it up to the rugby club as well?? send some invites out...

Once some of the rugger boys have a taste of league... they wont look back :)

Looks to be a good concept. The sevens and nines have always been an enjoyable event. It's also a great chance for some of the lower grade teams to mix it up with the premier teams.

Hopefully the clubs get on board and enjoy the occassion. Apparantly there is a maximum of 16 teams with some good prize money on offer.

Would be good to see some teams outside the clubs involved. ie Uso's, former bulls, West Coaster's, rugby boys or something a little different.

Good luck with the event.

How many teams do you have registered thus far? Is there going to be a limit on the number of teams?

hey b.lima this is not tony but will pass on message to him 4 you. AAKeas19 there is going 2 be a limit of 16 teams with a limit of 2 teams per club, so far we've had a few clubs interested, we will be sending info out to all clubs in the next couple of days, as far as i know its $150 per team with good prize money for winners and runners up in cup section and bowl section. With 16 teams there will be 4 pools with 4 teams in each with top 2 going into cup section bottom 2 going 2 bowl section with quarters semis and the final in each section so each team in guaranteed at least 4 games each. Will be an awesome day so spread the word.

Hey guys just letting you know spots are quickly filling up for the 9's so if your thinking about putting a team in get in fast.On a bum note its sad to here the champion panthers
wont be entering a team thought they would have been behind showcasing what our game has to offer' dam shame really.

Knightshard, maybe if you listed the teams that had entered thus far it would put a little bit of pressure on the clubs from the players that dont have teams in there.

It will be a shame not having Hornby there, but it doesnt really matter, each to their own i guess. Is there an Uso team?

Good luck to all teams!

Teams at this stage:

USO'S X2
MARIST
THE REMIX(pap affiliated)

Better be in quick, dont leave it to late

That leaves these teams to fill the last remaining spots

BURNHAM ADDINGTON
PAPANUI

Registrations for above competition has been extended to Mon 25th Jan 4pm. A number of teams have said they keen but have not registered hence the extension. The tournament is in jeopardy if not more entries.
