That is truely pathetic if there are no League teams from Levin. It shows how close the game is to dying in the Manawatu

Hopefuly things will change from the release of the report.

Its true brothers there is no team from levin and you can thank the current board at MRL for there lack of leadership in this happening but thats another story.People have had enuf of how league is organised in our region and cant be bothered with the crap competition formats and stupid rules and registration fees they keep chucking at us. the club is in recess for a year and the whole team have swicthed to union playing for the levin wanderers club who have top class administration clubrooms,a strong local competition and have welcomed the league boys with open arms.Pains me to say this as levin is a stauch league town but you can only do so much and take so much from the people who run the game of league locally and nationally.

The western alliance is set for March 21st... I think the draw is out shortly. No team from Levin, or Waiouru and Linton struggling as well. MRL is in the crap financially with previous admin stuff up's being "unofficial" word! But a new team in Taihape!! The name of this team is Mokai-Patea, a team made up of the locals with a "staunch" background in football... Kia ora Warriors are assisting with the Launch of Mokai Patea this weekend, with a pre-season game between the reigning champs, and the new comers to the competition. The game is on at 2pm, at the Taihape College grounds, Saturday march 14th, 2009.
Also any keen players from Palmerston North who want to play, coronation park, 6pm sharp Tuesday & thursdays...

How did the Linton 9's go?? I heard that Otaki are going to have a stong team this year. So does that mean there will only be Warriors, Falcons, Otaki in Prems?

Are foxton back this year?

I cant believe how pathetic the game is in the Manawatu. Dare i say it, but should they chage the season to after the rugby season like in the bay?

Hey guys it's sad to hear that use can't feild a team for the 2009 season but don't wori your not the only team we couldn't field on efor this season for the wellington circuit for the first time in the Kapiti Bears history.

I was wondering if there was any1 that i could talk to in the organisation for setting up afew ideas that weve got and wouldnt mind considering having future dealings with your club

Kia ora people
well nading changes and those in charge an't held accountable for the dealings of MRL decision making, league taking a huge arse knock this year for all clubs.

wat up with the juniors???? heard good things den there was an change in the age grades, was this for the benefit of 1-2 clubs and not the majority of clubs.

Refs low n numbas, last year at the club im with c da year out den i'm done, neva thought it would happen this early doh lolz, new clubs startin for 2010 comp wid sum past clubs cumming back into da comp-
Takaro Panthers
Tainui
New Palmy Club
Levin
Pahiatua
all rumours but lets c wat happens good luck to those involved

well jah thats wat it said on the front of the Manawatu Standard but will they follow threw with it, MRL need to get a back bone nd do wats best for Manawatu Rugby League, we've got the wrong people in running things nd itz only getting worse, lets hope that they can crawl out of the hole thats been dug.

anyways all the best to all clubs for the rest of the season
B safe nd Peace!

Jah this the same ole bullshit from our MRL board, they stinging the clubs for affiliation fees and what not and expect clubs to bail them out with there 50 k debt from last year as well, rugby league in NZ shooting them selves in the foot again.Have not heard any thing about levin putting a team in for 010, what for may i ask to put up with the same teko thats been ongoing with MRL for a long long time.

The MRL situation is "publicly" not good...
hey we all know you don't air your dirty laundry in public... & unfortunately RL official get sucked into what pro rugby union reporters will always do, put a negative spin on the best game in the world... our official continue to do this at the detriment of our game.
A lot of the clubs have heard it all before... but have only decided to drip feed as a few have paid up in the past, and been the only ones...
but hey if we think we can do better... we need to put our hands up!!

Hey Jah, sweet as... Just chucking it out there, as I know it aint an easy job to do:)
As far as I know the debt comes from the MRL commiting $ to the purchase of equipment such as schoolboys jerseys, fro Koggaa sports... and the sportwear company is threatening bankruptacy!!
This is what happens when there are no check systems, or backstops within the committment of $'s....
All I hope is that we the clubs aren't servicing debt!!
The unfortunate fiscal climate does not help our struggling sport... It aslo soesnt help when we have MUPPETS running it!!

Weekend Games Results for Saturday 25 August 2009

Reserve Grade:

Feilding Falcons 8 lost Ohakea Magpies 44
Half Time 4 -24 Ohakea Magpies

Marton Bears 42 Beat Whiti Te Ra 36
Half Time 24 - 16 Marton Bears

Kia Ora Warriors 26 Beat Mokai Patea 14
Half Time 16 4 Kia Ora Warriors

Premiers:

Feilding Falcons 24 Beat Linton Cobras 20
Half Time 14 - 4 Feilding Falcons

Dannevirke Tigers 34 Beat Whiti Te Ra 22
Half Time 10 - 16 Whiti Te Ra

Kia Ora Warriors 56 Beat Foxton Rebels 6
Half Time 26 - 6 Kia Oea Warriors

All this info can be found from http://www.sportsground.co.nz/ClubSite.asp?SiteID=11617

Went and watched the Mokai Patea vs Kia Ora Warriors Reserves and it was a good game. About 100-150 people there watching too.

If the Mokai Patea make it to Prems next year then Waiouru Bobcats will be there reserve grade side. Patea have been getting just under 30 players to training which is a really positive sign for Rugby League in Taihape and Waiouru.

Watched a little of the Warriors vs Foxton match in Prems, and Foxton arent going to do well when the only have two players on the bench. I think that is about the third time they have been short in recent weeks. Lets hope they can attract more players and stay in Prems.

Same here chevy/jah ive done the hard yards with the levin teams over the years where u are wearing so many hats on and off the field to keep the club ticking over, always a handful of people at each club that have the passion and drive for the club and after a while it starts wearing u down and u need a rest and some one else to step up to the plate.Just as honest as u army boyz aye jah but all good cuz and watch out for the IEDs over there in taleban country-be safe and take care.

What up KiaOra League.
Bloody awesome season guys!! almost made history by winning three seasons in a rowafter winning last years final with help from the touchys. K.O done their best to weaken up the young Falcons side complaining about a falcon only have played 4 games b4 finalsThey got their way only to even things up 4 themselves. K.O come out onto Fitzhebert Park looking sharp, with more vase in their hair than on their legs, especially their water boys (Pele Aumua & Riwai McPhee) as if they were modeling the K.O training gearsIt was a good game and the boys all done well!! At stages the K.O boys were looking dehydrated only because their water boys were drinking all the water..but mind you they spent more time running around on the feild than most of their players!! Anyways it was a bloody hard physical game, going deep into overtime before the Falcons flew in to take the victory22-26. After the whistle K.O fullback Corey Governor threw his K.O jersey on the ground in disbelief as his team mates huddled around in tears to comfort each other.
oh well Kia ora you got served!! maybe next yearahahaha!!!

crackup falcon03 i was @ the game & yup it was a good game alright. I know what you mean about their water boys i dont think they ever left the feild. It was good to see the falcons win considering last years final was gifted to the so called warriors. I remember seeing afew of the kia ora boys out a couple of weeks before the final and they were bragging that they were gona win both the prems and reserves Hopefully Palmy puts in another team next year
